ABOUT US : WELCOME LETTER
Welcome to Emerald Services. Sixty-five years ago, my father, John Banchero, Sr., started a waste disposal company in Seattle. Through the years, he emphasized customer service and integrity in every aspect of our business. Under my father's leadership, we grew into one of the leading waste management companies in the Northwest. You may have known us as Rabanco or Northwest Waste Industries.
In the 1980's, we were an early innovator in recycling, establishing one of the finest paper recycling programs in businesses throughout Seattle. We formed Cedar Grove Composting, now the largest private composter in the U.S. We created Washington's leading marine and industrial tank cleaning company, a major recycler of oily and other wastewater.
In 1999, we sold our waste disposal business to focus on being the one-stop recycling and environmental services provider for manufacturers, transportation-related companies, the military, ship builders, and more, offering everything from solvent recycling to non-hazardous and hazardous waste management to tank cleaning.
We decided to offer a local, high-quality recycling alternative to generators of
petroleum-based waste. To that end, we have made significant investments in locating new recycling facilities in the Northwest, including in Tacoma, Vancouver, and Anchorage. I am proud to say Emerald Services is now the largest locally-owned recycler of fluids and solvents in the Northwest. We recycle 10 million gallons per year of waste oil, solvents, and other fluids for our satisfied industrial, automotive and government customers.
Now, we are introducing recycled products to consumers. Expect to see our recycled cleaning solvents, manufactured antifreeze and windshield cleaner in home improvement, automotive and paint stores near you soon.
Sincerely,
J. Stephan Banchero, Jr.
